Primaries, What Primaries?

Moving towards the election rapidly now. The process this year was a joke. The whole battle between the Democrats and the Republicans over the primaries resulted in a third party nightmare scenario. Supporters continue to ask me why I'm not in the primaries? It's a logical question when David Irons is unopposed?

I've enjoyed meeting the many committed activists who continue to stuggle for social justice through their actions both great and small.

The answer is STATE LAW, which nominates 3rd , minor party (or independent) candidates directly to the General ballot at special nominating conventions. Ironically minor parties, under state law, have the convention process control of candidates that the major parties have sued in court to achieve.

Primaries are a form of Party welfare for the established Parties.

The answer is to abolish primaries and elect General election candidates by Instant Runoff Voting - while opening up filing to anyone who wants to file. See IRVWA for the changes we are trying to bring to Washington Elections, www.irvwa.org

Thanks, I actually understood that to begin with. However, most people do not. But you are absolutely correct.
